Every feature

What boilerpod does, in plain language.

One library for everything worth keeping, and every way it helps you save it, sort it, and find it again.

Save anything, from anywhere

From the browser, the app or your email. Everything lands in your Inbox unless you chose a board.

The browser extension Email links to your Inbox Save web pages permanently

One-click save from the browserChrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox and Safari on Mac. Edit the title, pick a board, add tags, write a note. The popup remembers the board you used last.
Three ways to keep a pageArticle: a clean, readable copy exactly as you saw it. Full page: the whole page as it looks today, pictures included. Bookmark only: just the address and title.
Paywalls and logins includedBecause the page is saved as you saw it, articles behind a paywall, a sign-in or your company network are kept with their content, not a login screen.
Highlight on the live pageClick the extension on any page, select a passage, tap a colour. Your highlights are drawn back onto the page when you return, and they show up in your Notebook too.
Right-click to saveA link, a picture or selected text, straight to your Inbox.
Know what you already haveA dot on the toolbar button tells you the page is already in your library. Your browsing stays in your browser.
Save all open tabsUntick any, choose a board or let boilerpod make one named with today’s date, and close them all once they are safely saved.
Side panelStays open beside the page in Chrome, Edge and Firefox: where this page is saved, your newest saves, and a search box over your whole library.
Close the popup, the save still finishesMove on straight away. The page arrives on its own.
Connects in one clickNo tokens to paste. See every connected browser in Settings and disconnect any of them instantly.
Reads a page only when you askYour browser shows no “read all your data on all websites” warning, and nothing from pages you do not save ever leaves it.
Bring in this browser’s bookmarksOne click in the extension copies your bookmarks into boilerpod, folders and all, with a preview of where they will land. Your browser is left exactly as it was.
Add from inside the appPaste one address and the title and description fill themselves in. Or paste a whole list, up to 500 links at once, and boilerpod tells you which ones you already had.
Notes with no addressA note sits on a board beside your links, tagged, moved and searched like everything else.
Drop any fileDrag it anywhere in the app. PDFs, books, images, audio, video and documents land beside your links, up to 300 MB each.
Email links to your InboxForward any newsletter or email to your private boilerpod address. Every link inside lands in your Inbox, with the unsubscribe and tracking links already stripped out.
Details filled in for youTitle, description, preview image, author, publish date and keywords, and the real title and channel for YouTube links. Anything you typed yourself is never overwritten.

Boards, sections and tags

Where things live, and how you move them.

A bookmark manager that keeps itself tidy

Boards inside boardsNest them as deep as you like. Expand a branch or the whole tree, create a board anywhere, and rearrange by dragging.
Make each board yoursColours, icons and a banner with a gradient, a flat colour or a photo. A board should look like what it holds.
Sections inside a boardTitled sections, each with its own description and colour. Collapse, reorder, or move a whole section with its links to another board.
A section that fills itselfPoint a section at a tag and it shows everything carrying that tag, wherever it is filed, and keeps itself up to date.
Masonry, columns or KanbanThree ways to lay out a board, with your own column counts for desktop, tablet and phone.
Seven ways to show itemsPanels, Grid, Masonry, Tiles, Text, Tabular and Dense. Set per board, override per section, pick a card size, choose what each card shows.
Sort, filter, jumpYour own order, A to Z, newest, oldest or most clicked. Filter a board by tag. A table of contents jumps to any section.
One link, several boardsPut the same link on as many boards as you like. It keeps one set of tags, notes, highlights and reading progress everywhere.
Drag and drop that tells you what it will do“Move 3 links to Reading.” Hold Alt or Ctrl to add instead of move. Works on touch and with the keyboard.
Select many, act onceTick, Shift-click a range or select all. Then tag, move, archive, delete or restore the lot. Undo where it matters.
Inbox, Archive and TrashUnfiled saves wait in the Inbox. Archive tucks things away but keeps them searchable. Restore from Trash puts an item back exactly where it was.
Tags that nest and roll up“Camera” can live under both “Gear” and “Photography”. Open a tag and see everything beneath it, grouped so you know why each item is there.
Aliases, colours, mergeGive a tag other names and search finds it by any of them. Merge tags with a preview of what will change.
Sticky tagsMark a tag sticky and it attaches itself to any new item that mentions it.
PIN-protected boardsOne PIN locks any boards you choose. Their contents vanish from search, tags, views, the dashboard and exports until you unlock them. Nobody, including us, can open them for you.
No duplicate links, everWith or without www, tracking codes or a trailing slash, it is the same link. Save it again and it simply joins the new board. The same file uploaded twice is stored once.

Smart rules and Smart Inbox

Write the rule once and it files for you. Or switch on Smart Inbox and let boilerpod do the sorting.

How smart rules work The bookmark manager that files itself

If URL contains any of reddit.com/r/productivity gettingthingsdone.com then tag with Productivity then move to Reading › To Read
EnabledRuns on new contentWould match 27 items nowLast ran 2 hours ago · 3 matched
If boilerpod answers yes to Is this a recipe you could cook from? then tag with Recipe then move to Kitchen
EnabledRuns on new contentAsked of every new link
If this, then thatMatch on the web address, or on the title, description and keywords. Then add tags, move to a board or a section, or both. Rules read as a sentence, so you always know what one does.
Or just ask a question“Is this a recipe?” “Is this about photography gear?” A rule can ask boilerpod a plain yes-or-no question about the page and act on the answer. When it is not sure, it leaves the link alone.
Runs on everything newExtension saves, emailed links, pasted lists, uploads. Or run one rule, or all of them, over any board whenever you like.
In order, with a previewRules run top to bottom and you can reorder them. While you edit, see how many items would match right now, with a sample.
Always explainableEvery item a rule touched carries a “Filed by rule” label, so you always know why it is where it is. Nothing happens that you cannot trace.
Smart Inbox: filed for youSwitch it on and new links move out of the Inbox onto the board they belong on, only when boilerpod is sure. Each one is marked “Filed for you”, and moving it yourself always wins.
Tags suggested from your own tagsNew links arrive with the tags you would have chosen, picked from your tag list, never invented. A suggested tag is marked, and nothing is ever taken off.
Tidy a whole board at oncePick “File and tag with Smart Inbox” from any board’s menu, confirm, and get a report of what moved, what was tagged and what stayed put.
Off until you say soBoth switches are off by default and never touch your notes, your files or a PIN-protected board. Prefer the rules you wrote? Leave Smart Inbox off and they run exactly as before.

Keeping pages, and knowing when they change or die

Keep the page, not just the link

Your permanent copyKeep your own copy of an article, pictures included, so it stays readable if the page changes or vanishes. Discard it whenever you like.
Page historyEvery time a saved page’s text changes, boilerpod keeps the new version and the date.
See what changedA word-by-word comparison between any two versions. Additions marked, removals struck through, and a “This page changed” marker in your lists and in the reader.
Broken links, found for youLinks are checked when saved and re-checked on demand. Only a page that is truly gone is flagged, never a site that was busy. Vouch for a link with “This link is fine”.
