Switch from Pocket

Pocket closed. Your reading list doesn’t have to.

Kept your Pocket export? Bring it into boilerpod in a few minutes: every article, every tag, and what you had already read. Then keep going with a reader you can tune, highlights that last, and a search that reads inside the pages.

How to import

It is one upload. Nothing is saved until you have seen where it will go.

  1. Sign up for boilerpod. Free plan available. Verify your email and you are in.
  2. Open Import. In the app, go to Import and choose your Pocket export, the CSV file from Pocket’s final export or the older HTML file. boilerpod recognises it on sight.
  3. Check the preview. See how your saves will land. Read items arrive archived, tags come with them, and you can send anything to the Inbox instead.
  4. Start the import. It runs in the background. Close the page, come back to a report of what was saved.

Questions

Which Pocket export file does boilerpod accept?

Both: the CSV file from Pocket’s final export, and the older HTML export. If yours came as a ZIP, upload the CSV inside it.

Do my tags come across?

Yes. Tags arrive as tags, and you can nest, rename and colour them afterwards.

What about articles I had already read?

They arrive archived, out of the way but still searchable.

Can I import twice without duplicates?

Yes. Importing the same file again changes nothing, and a newer export brings in only what is new.
